Unfinished Business

A few days ago, I woke up to 3 missed calls and a text message about a flight I had booked at 6am that morning for a flight from Jordan to Istanbul, Turkey . . .

I was physically in Chicago. Someone had hacked my account . . . AGAIN!

It add insult to injury, not only did the hacker buy a plane ticket to turkey, he bought TWO plane tickets to Turkey AND had the audacity to check in for his flight already!!

Talk about BOLD!

I was able to get all of this straightened out and my money back within a week, but this was the second time in less than 30 days that my bank card had been hacked. And on top of that, just a couple of days before, I get a noticed from the IRS about taxes from 2014 . . .

It was in this moment that I had to ask myself was all of this a coincidence or was God trying to get my attention?

Too often, we ignore things, dismiss signs and signals from God as simply a coincidence, just an odd moment, or blame it on the world. Then, 2, 3, or 6 months later, it seems your world is crashing down on you and you begin to ask God WHY didn’t you warn me??

Or, you may be striving for a goal – business goal, health goal, money goal, career goal – and every time you seem to take 2 steps forward, you’re forced 5 steps back or you’re forced to stay stagnate. And you’re left wondering why you can’t move forward to achieve your big goals and dreams.

What I’ve learned the hard way is that sometimes you have unfinished business you need to take care of before you can move up to the next level. And God will give you signs, drop hints, make you uncomfortable, and do anything he can to get you to stop long enough to close the loop on something that’s holding you back.

Do you have any unfinished business you need to take care of?

When was the last time you looked at your taxes? Your business investments? Your business filing?

When was the last time you sat and talked to your manager at work? Had a heart to heart conversation with your parents? Reached out to a friend of yours who has been on your heart for weeks?

What projects have you started and haven’t finished?

The holiday season is a good time to get distracted by all of the festivities. But it’s also a good time to get your house in order and take care of all of your unfinished business.

2020 is right around the corner. And, like you, I want 2020 to be leaps and bounds more productive, happier, and prosperous than 2019.

What you do today, while it’s still 2019, will determine how your 2020 will go. . . .

Take care of your unfinished business so you can get down to business as soon as 2020 gets here!
