Good advice is not enough

Sometimes, all you need is the right instruction. . .

Last year, I joined a just for fun bowling league. I did not join the league because I enjoyed bowling. And I did not join the league because I was good at bowling. I joined the league simply to have more social time.

Let me make something clear – I am NOT good at bowling at all! I completely suck at it. Scoring above 60 points in a pretty good game for me.

Although this was a “just for fun” bowling league, it doesn’t feel good to always come in last place each and every game. After a couple of months, I began to dread going bowling because the stigma of being so far behind in skill level from the rest of the group far outweighed my desire to be social.

I simply wanted to quit.

A few of my team members tried to give me advice on how to stand, throw the ball, hold the ball, bend my legs, etc . . .

But nothing worked . . . until someone took the time to give me proper instruction.

He not only told me what to do, he showed me what to do and told me how my muscles should feel when I hold the ball the right way versus the wrong way. He took the time and went step by step with me to show me what to do.

And do you know what happened next? I tripled my score from my last game!

I TRIPLED my results with proper instructions.
