The Winter Solstice & You

Did you know that December 22nd is the Winter Solstice? The winter solstice signifies change from the darkest part of the year to gradually seeing more daylight. And, in my opinion, this is the perfect time to start preparing to receive MORE in the year ahead.

What can you start doing now to welcome more peace, love, and sunlight into your life?

  1. Let it go. Let go of all resentment and unforgiveness you’ve been holding onto against others and against yourself. Resentment and Darkness do not contain any light, so you must let them go. Let go of anything else that brings negative energy into your life. It could be letting go of certain responsibilities, certain people, or physical mementos (i.e. photos of you and your ex-boyfriend).
  2. Make room. Now that you’ve let go of all of the negative, make room to receive the positive. Make time in your life to be available for dates if you desire a new relationship next year. Make time in your calendar and plan to spend more time with family members in 2016. Decline invitations to parties, social outings, or networking events if you desire to have more time for your spiritual practices. When you make room in your life to receive, God will provide.
  3. Be grateful. Be grateful for all that you have right now. Thank God for your current relationships. Thank God for preparing you to receive future relationships. Thank God for aligning you with the right people and opportunities for your life to increase, for your happiness to increase, and for your peace to increase. Be grateful.

These three steps I’ve given you are simple enough to do, but too many times, we don’t do this. We refuse to let go of things because we are too attached. We refuse to make room in our lives, because, like babies, we’re afraid we are going to miss something. And we are too stubborn to truly be grateful because we have not learned to be satisfied right where we are.

What we fail to realize is that it is these same attitudes that keeps us stuck and running around in circles, never moving, never growing, never getting to where you want to be in life.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results.

If you want something different for your life, your love, and your careers, you have to make the conscious, and sometimes uncomfortable decision, to do something different. Following these three tips will give you the jump start and motivation you need to open you mind, heart, and life to receive the life and love you truly desire and God wants to give.
